Tiger Beer launches RM1.5 million fund to ‘Save Our Street Food’

Tiger Beer creates fund to help street food vendors cover rent during MCO; creates voucher system to support coffee shops and food courts upon reopening

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 APRIL 2020: Tiger Beer announced today that it will donate RM1.5 million to support Malaysian street food during the Movement Control Order (MCO). The funding will be used to help cover rent for street food vendors, coffee shops and food courts across the country as they face reduced income due to ongoing restrictions. RM1 million of the funds will be made available immediately, and will benefit street food vendors operating in more than 1200 coffee shops and food courts nationwide.

Tiger Beer is also giving the public a way to support their local coffee shops and food courts through this tough time, by purchasing vouchers to be used once restrictions are relaxed. Continue reading

Carlsberg Provides a Safer Learning Environment for 1 Million Students Amid Covid-19

All applications for Carlsberg Malaysia’s Safer Schools campaign to receive thermometers, with disinfection services for all schools within Covid-19 “red zones” 

SHAH ALAM, 22 April 2020 – When the Movement Control Order (MCO) is finally lifted, parents and teachers of an estimated 1 million schoolchildren can breathe a sigh of relief as Carlsberg Malaysia has expanded its Safer Schools contribution to cover all applications, providing safer and worry-free learning environments when classes resume. 

As of the final submission date on 15 April, Carlsberg Malaysia received approximately 1,660 applications from both Chinese and Tamil schools. To accommodate all requests, the brewer has increased its donation of handheld thermometers to 3,600 units covering every eligible school with two or more thermometers each. Continue reading

The platform, named ‘Raise Our Bars’, allows Malaysian consumers to buy a voucher for a beer, stout or cider from their favourite bar, and receive an additional one free of charge when they redeem it.
