We went to check out a new branch of My Elephant in Aman Suria. Just a few doors away from the popular Betty’s Midwest Kitchen.
It had a simple, minimalistic interior. Which gave the restaurant a nice ambiance.
We order the chef recommended Tom Som with fish ( $20) – which was a clear tom yum soup with extra helpings of lemon grass, Basil and other Thai aromatic herbs. The taste of the soup was well balanced with the aroma of Thai herb taste reminded us of an authentic tom yum in Thailand. Besides Tom Som with fish, there are also other options of tom yum to select from.
Next we were served eggplant with chicken minced meat dish. The minced meat and sauce were my favourite part of the dish. ( $15 ).
Next came the home made Fish Cake ( $12 ). I loved the taste and texture of the fish cake as fresh herbs and cut long beans were used in this dish. This gave it the impression of freshness.
We ate the meal with a bowl of Brown Rice ( Unlimited – $3 ). Personally I would have prefer if they serve Jasmine white rice. However, the taste of brown rice was rather pleasant and an easy and nutritious eat.
Finally we ordered the homemade Mango Cheese Cake ( $8.50) for desert.
Overall we liked the ambience. It felt cosy yet classy in terms of the modern decor. We give the food and ambience 4/5.
